African Love Birds. [ Agapornis roseicollis]

It was never my intension to become an African Love Bird breeder. However, after dear friends Walt and Mary Petty made the mad decision to retire from Exhibition and Breeding I decided to aquire a few of their birds while they were still available and never looked back .

The basic line of Peach-faces are 90% results of the Petty line. White-face Creamino,White-face Violet, White-face Dark and Double dark factor, Lutino and Medium Green.
The other 10%. Peach-face Pied lines coming from 2 other lines. One of which the then [ Dale Schillers].Peach-face Pieds the other line White-face Pieds.

Love Birds as Pets:
It is my feeling that these birds should be single specie pets, have plenty of toys and plenty of daily family interaction. Although many remain very loveable some will become quite temprimental and difficult to handle by recognizing the first signs of birdy dominance and following  a few rules of thumb in avoiding this can often assure a happier relationship with the Lovebird.  Training Your Lovebird.
